About Nancy

I have a masters of occupational therapy (MOT) degree earned at Texas Woman’s University in Houston, TX, in 1996.  The Veteran’s Administration (VA) scholarship put me through school and in return I worked for the VA for 15 years.  My patients had many different conditions including stroke, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's dementia, COPD, cancer, orthopedic conditions, multiple sclerosis, cardiac conditions, diabetes, hand issues, amputee, and mental health.   Next, I taught occupational therapy assistant students at National American University.  I learned as much from them as they taught me!  But the practice area I love the most is working with people in their homes where the environment is real and not a "simulation of real life."  For 10 years, I've worked with people in their homes where I have gained valuable knowledge and experience helping people be more independent so they can live quality meaningful lives.  I opened OT House Calls in 2024 to provide mobile outpatient occupational therapy services.  My aim is to help people continue to make gains (or at the very least avoid decline)  in their overall function so they can participate in the activities they want and need to do!
