About Nancy

Hi!  My name is Nancy Dillinger, MOT, OTR/L and I have been an occupational therapist for 28 years working with older adults - helping them become safer and more independent with the activities they need and want to do.  For example, some people have difficulty getting their shoes on or stepping into the shower.  Other people want to learn how to use their smart phone,  improve their balance, or make their home more accessible.  What can I help you with?

My Story

I have a masters of occupational therapy (MOT) degree earned at Texas Woman’s University in Houston, TX, in 1996.  The Veteran’s Administration (VA) scholarship put me through school and in return I worked for the VA for 15 years.  My patients had many different conditions including stroke, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's dementia, COPD, cancer, orthopedic conditions, multiple sclerosis, cardiac conditions, diabetes, hand issues, amputee, and mental health.   After the VA, I spent three years with National American University teaching occupational therapy assistant students.  I learned as much from them as they taught me!  But the practice area I love the most is working with people in their homes where the environment is real and not a "simulation of real life."  So for the next nine years, I worked with people in their homes where I continued to gain more knowledge and experience helping people be more independent.  All of this has lead me to here, opening OT House Calls which provides mobile outpatient occupational therapy services.  My aim is to help people continue to make gains (or at the very least avoid decline)  in their overall function so they can participate in the activities they want and need to do.
